"It's hard to tell just where Dan Chavers stops and his music begins." - Scott Harris, singer/songwriter |

| The
Man Texas born
singer song writer Dan Chavers moved to Oregon at the age of six and
grew up in the Portland area. He has called Central Oregon his home
since 1969.
Chavers turned to song writing in the seventies with his early influences being John Prine, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson. As an active member in the Central Oregon Songwriter Association, Dan was honored with four Song of the Month awards in 1998 and wrote the 1999 COSA Folk Song of The Year. A regular performer on the local music scene Dan presents a quiet blend of old favorite and original tunes. The songs of this Northwest folk singer are an insightful and often humorous reflection of his observation of people, places and events. " Dan Chavers is a veteran of Central Oregon's songwriting and open mic scenes, and the dedication he brings to those arenas is reflected in his songwriting." - The Source Weekly, May 24, 2007 "Insightful, observant, folksy tunes..." "...A pillar of the local music scene" - The Source Weekly - Feb.26, 2002 |
